Walking Holidays Pelion Greece

Walking holidays Pelion Greece on the “The Pelion Peninsular” “north of Volos city on the mainland are undoubtedly, an unforgettable location for a nature lover’s holiday. A net-work of cobbled mule paths connects, in fact, many of the mountain villages. Now, however, used infrequently by the pack animals the routes provide, without doubt, an opportunity for walkers to experience the exquisite nature unique to Pelion.  It is undeniably a total contrast to the landscape of most Greek Islands. Walking holidays, means one is amongst verdant and wild vegetation ambling frequently through dense chestnut forests, apple and cherry orchards.  Furthermore, at a lower altitude there is an abundance of walnut, pear, pomegranate, plum and fig trees. Consequently there is always a shady spot to take a break. Without doubt the Greek “Garden of Eden.”

On walking holidays Pelion Greece, the sea is never far away. The landscape near sea level is probably the most familiar one in Greece, the silvery leaves of the olive groves glinting and contrasting against shimmering ripples of the turquoise Aegean. The groves are interspersed frequently with lemon and orange trees.

Finally at the end of your walk by all means enjoy a wonderful swim at one of the stunning beaches, of Papa Nero, Agios Ioannis, Plaka or a little beyond at Damouchari of Mama Mia fame.  Otherwise, enjoy a delicious lunch at one of the nearby sea-side tavernas.
